As he lay intubated during the Christmas tide of 2016 in a hospital in Naples FL I kept singing it over & over
As we waited for our Miracle.
The Lord was faithful then and he is faithful now.
So glad to know his light now shines with the Lord!
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Yes I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine
The light that shines is the light of love
Lights the darkness from above
And it shows with the light of love can do
I’m gonna shine my light both far and near
I’m gonna shine my light bright and clear
Where there’s a dark corner in this land
I’m gonna let my little light shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
Yes I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Donald’s parents:
What a bright & beautiful light your son’s spirit was here in a world overflowing with judgement & careless cruelty.
My hope is that you both will know how far-reaching his rare & precious ability to love & accept others truly was , that you may be comforted in knowing what a blessing he was to have known.
I saw so many lives touched by his lighthearted spirit and watched him spread joy even in his darkest moments...like it was an thing easy to do.
What a wonder he was.
What a strong, strong man - imparting sweetness to those around him, right up to the very end of his time here with us.
His warm heart seemed to hold only kindness toward others. I and many others I’m sure - would have an almost impossible time believing that he was ever deliberately unkind or ugly to anyone.
Just like a magnet his kindness drew folks in, no matter if they were deserving of such or not. He was so dang easy to love with that beaming smile and that light in his eyes!
I sure did shake my head & smile some at first, trying to wonder if he wasn't maybe too kind hearted - I question now if there really even is such a thing as being too
kind -hearted.
I don’t know, but after having known him, I’ll be thinking that over for a long while.
He surly was as genuine a fella’ as there ever was and as warm & tender hearted a man as this world has ever known.
He so sincerely cared for people in spite of their flaws & faults. I hope someday to be able to love others in that same way.
Seeing him choose to make those around him smile in his lighthearted way ,during some pretty awful situations was nothing short of heroic.
Thruout his medical ordeal he was a shining example of a patient caring for the caregiver.
Over & over he displayed calm courage and demonstrated appreciation & compassion for his medical team, even when he knew they maybe weren’t the best.
I confess to being sometimes annoyed at his choice to be a darling to those who were not the best at their jobs.
So foolish I was - so grateful I am now for his beautiful example of grace under such extreme pressure.
I will treasure it.
It was my pleasure to have known him and my great honor to have cared for him in his time of need.
I remain a grateful recipient of his tender hearted acceptance - and In awe of his masterful execution at the spreading of JOY, which my bible tells me is of God and is the source of our strength.
Trying to see the world thru his eyes I was humbled by his ability to accept people right where they are.
It was easy to see how he made so many loving friends.
He chose to love others, flaws and all just as we all should but hardly ever do choose to do.
My hope is that you will both feel rightfully proud of a son who was able - in this mixed up crazy world - to do the most important thing there is here to do.
To love others just as he himself is loved by Christ Jesus
and to inspire so many of us to strive to do the same..
Thank you both so much for all you did along the way shaping Donald’s precious heart into one that loved others even when it seems foolish - even when it hurts.
May God grant both of you all comfort in Donalds departure, Joy at his arrival in the Lord’s presence and peace to sustain and keep you, until you are all once again reunited in glory.
In Jesus Name.
I remain a grateful heart and a friend of Donald’s.
Your friend.

My thoughts and prayers go to Rick Marsh and the Marsh family in this time of sorrow and celebration. It is always sad to loose a loved one, but we celebrate his life and knowing that he is with our Father in heaven. That he goes on before us to help prepare a place for our reunion. Be not sad that Donald is no longer with us and rejoice that he has shed the pain and suffering he knew on earth. We ask that our Father in heaven, look upon this family to ease their pain and heal their wounds. In the name of Jesus, The Father and Holy Ghost, Amen.

Really loved what you said in obit. Known for his grin, Yep, his music, motorcycle, and sunshine. For me seems like his grin usually meant he was up to something. Haha He will be missed.
