Obituary of Vivian J. Pearson

Memorial services for Vivian J. Pearson, 66, of Lexington, will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington. Rev. Dr. Karen Young will officiate. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.

Vivian Pearson passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she was a daughter of the late William Duckett and Helen Elona Schweitza. Vivian was an “Air Force brat”, and traveled with her parents extensively throughout the world in her youth. When she was a young girl, she received a life-saving award certificate from the US Air Force for saving the life of a young boy. She wisely provided pressure on a bleeding wound, thereby saving his life until medical help could arrive. In her later years, Vivian worked as a cosmetologist and teacher’s aide. She then worked in a variety of doctor’s offices, providing medical and insurance services, until her retirement. Vivian enjoyed being on Lake Murray on her pontoon boat, enjoying time with her friends, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, Mamo and sister who will be dearly missed.

Vivian is survived by her children; son, Michael Pearson, II of Lexington; daughter, Natalie Bailey (Chevis) of Lexington; grandchildren, Colin Pearson, Kinsley Bailey, Easton Bailey; brothers, Ronald Duckett of Montgomery, AL, Dean Duckett of Sumter, SC, Gary Duckett (Cheri) of Marysville, TN; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Duckett, Daniel Duckett, Stephanie Gish, Mindy Ransom, Jonathan Duckett, Brian Duckett, Tyler Duckett. Vivian is also survived by her loving lab, Jackson.  Vivian was predeceased by her parents.
