Our hearts are broken for Linda and the family. Randy and I were great friends from our teenage years. We have spent many happy hours with Randy and his sweet wife Linda at their beautiful homes in Lexington and Hilton Head. He always kept us laughing with his great stories and jokes! He was an awesome story teller!
Ann and I will always cherish these memories and we send our prayers to all of you.

My heart goes out to Linda and the family. They have lost a husband, father, brother, friend and confidant. I've always known this salty Marine as Randy instead of Harry. We were stationed together during the early 1960's at MCAS Beaufort, SC, Marine Fighter Squadron VMF 122. Me from Alabama and Randy from SC, we hit it off together. He was my best friend in the squadron. My wife Sandra and I frequently hung-out with Randy and his wife. Randy was everybody's friend. He was just a load of fun be be around. Always positive and very witty. And yes, he was a loyal friend.
We became separated in late 1961 when I was ordered to ship-out to Japan for a one-year tour of duty. After years of not knowing what happened to each other, we connected on Facebook 8 or 9 years ago. Finally, in 2012 we met he and his wonderful wife Linda at the 70-Year Anniversary Celebration of VMF 122 in Beaufort. I was not surprised that Randy had not changed either in appearance or personalty. He was the same Randy who could connect with anybody at the snap of a finger. We had such a wonderful time during the reunion. I could see that Randy and Linda were soul mates. She was absolutely perfect for him and such a wonderful lady.
Once you knew Randy you could never forget him. During our long absence before reconnecting, I used to look for him in airports when traveling, thinking I might run into him. I had no idea where he might be living, but I just had this weird feeling that somehow I would bump into him. Then he found me on Facebook and it was like we had never been never separated. We talked about Marine Corps memories and our good times together. What a blessing it was to be connected with Randy again. He was such an amazing guy and so brave through his health ordeal. I miss him now and I will miss him tomorrow.
Rest in Peace my fellow US Marine Randy Pollard. You have enriched my life.

Randy Pollard graduated from Palmetto High School Class of 1957 with my older sister, Geraldine "Jeri" Crawford Jones. I've help coordinate some of their most recent class reunions. I will try to share some photos from those reunions.
So sorry for your loss and remembering you all in prayer.
