Hilary Anderson Cope, 49, of Lexington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was born in Charleston, SC, on February 10, 1973.
Hilary was loved by all that knew her and developed a strong circle of friendships. She graduated from South Aiken High School. She went on to graduate from Clemson University in 1995 with a degree in Financial Management. After graduation, she moved to Columbia, where she joined Shandon Baptist Church and met her future husband, Kyle.
While she loved her career as both a state bank auditor and accountant at SC State Credit Union, she did not hesitate when the time came to leave that career and dedicate herself to raising her two boys. She had many hobbies and interests, including gardening, board gaming with friends, cooking, and investing. Hilary loved travelling, Chick-fil-A and most of all, going on missionary trips to Nicaragua. Her love for taking care of babies led her and her husband to become foster parents. She was a wonderful friend who you instantly wanted to get to know better. Throughout her multiple battles with breast cancer, Hilary never complained about why things happened and continued to have confidence in her Lord.
Survivors include her husband, Kyle Edward Cope; children, Brandon Edward Cope, Bryan John Cope; parents, Dianne and John Anderson; sister, Heather Kimball (David); and nephew Scott Kimball.
The funeral service for Hilary will be held at 11 o’clock, on Saturday, August 6th, 2022, at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, with the Rev. Edward Stewart officiating. A burial, open to all, will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park,138 Corley Mill Rd, Lexington.
