Irene Sanders Early died July 18, 2022 at Generations of Irmo. Mrs. Early, a daughter of the late Walter Julian and Maude Emberson Sanders, was born in Hagood, SC on June 12, 1927. She was a graduate and a life member of the Alumni Association of the University of South Carolina. Irene taught school in Mt. Pleasant and Camden.
Irene was an avid cross word puzzle solver who enjoyed USC football and had fond memories of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and her close friends.
Irene is survived by her son, Walter Early and his wife, Deborah Early; grandchildren, Sanders Early (Melissa) and Sarah Early Potzler (Tyler); great grandsons, Kyle, Ryan and Jacob Early. She was predeceased by her husband, Horace H. Early Jr; and daughter, Alice Crook (Ted).
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Sunday, August 7, 2022, at her lifelong church, The Church of the Ascension, 5190 North Kings Highway, Rembert, SC. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall following the service. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Ascension at this address.
